A Professor of Managements calls for enforcement of integrity in work places as the panacea for Business success

A Professor of Management in the Abia State University, Anne Nwannennaya Onoh has called on individual employees, Management, boards and all concerned parties in business and corporate organizations to develop templates and measures to enforce integrity in all spheres of their operations to achieve success in their operations.

Delivering the 51st Inaugural Lecture of the University on the topic, “Corporate Integrity: An Exploration of the Ramifications of Morality in Business” Professor Anne Nwannennaya Onoh, identified integrity as a prerequisite for personal success, and for developing effective leadership skills which engenders corporate and personal success in every area of human endeavor
According to the University Don, “Integrity is a necessary condition for maximum performance, and helps a business fulfill its mission, delivers sustainable growth and lives up to the values that defines its culture”.

She maintained that when integrity is present, the platform on which the other elements for building successful performance is complete.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Vice Chancellor and Chairman on the occasion, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne, while commending the Executive Governor of the State and Visitor to the University, Okezie Ikpeazu PhD for the Inauguration of the Abia state scholarship board which will promote education in the state, also congratulated the Inaugural Lecturer for choosing a topic that is germane to any personal and business success, pointing out that there is no substitute to doing the right time.

He expressed his gratitude to the wife of the Executive Governor of the State and Guest of Honor on the event, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu for finding time to attend and noted that it was gratifying for her to mention that the Inaugural lecturer is her teacher, which is a benefit most teachers enjoy.

The Vice Chancellor observed that something will be missing in the life of a Professor who has not delivered his/her Inaugural lecture and encouraged others to use the opportunity created by the administration to tell the world what they profess in their various disciplines.
In her speech, the Wife of the Executive Governor of the State and Special Guest on the occasion, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu commended the Inaugural Lecturer who she described as her teacher and supervisor, for enriching the academic environment, pointing out that women are making giant strides in academics and other areas and called for celebration of the Women in the society.

She advised students to be goal oriented, focused, and obedient and learn to build integrity even as students in order to be successful in their chosen careers.
The Director of Research and Publication, Professor Victor Nwaugo in a vote of thanks appreciated the wife of the Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu for being a symbol of integrity and for her numerous empowerment projects through her Vicar Hope foundation, and thanked the Vice Chancellor for sustaining the Inaugural lectures which has enter a second phase towards the Diamond celebration.
High point of the event was the admittance of the Inaugural Lecturer into the family of “Distinguished Professors” and presentation of gifts.
The University management, members of senate, staff and students, and array of dignitaries and top government Executives attended the event.
